Terms of Service

Geode is an online-only educational and creative subscription. It helps you identify rocks, minerals, fossils and landforms, understand how they formed, and produce illustrative visuals and short animations. It is not a licensed geological, geophysical or geotechnical service.

Identifications and geological interpretations are educational estimates and may be wrong. Geode is not a licensed geological, geophysical or geotechnical service.

Not for assessing foundations, load-bearing, drilling, slope stability or any engineering or construction decision — those require a licensed geotechnical or structural engineer and on-site survey.

Not a specimen appraisal or authentication service. Outputs must not be used to price, trade or insure any specimen.

Geode must not be used for mineral prospecting, finding or mining decisions, or to authenticate, price, trade or insure any specimen. Outputs are informational and educational.

You must be at least 13 to use Geode; users aged 13–17 require parental or guardian consent, and classroom or family use should run through a teacher or guardian account. Keep your login secure; you are responsible for activity on your account.

Plans are pure subscriptions billed in USD monthly or yearly. Monthly identification allowances reset each period and do not roll over. There are no credit packs or stored balances. Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

You agree to follow our Acceptable Use Policy, including fieldwork-safety and collecting-ethics rules. You are responsible for how you act on any output in the field.

You keep ownership of the descriptions and photos you submit. Rights in generated outputs and how you may use them are set out in our Content License.

We aim to keep the service available but may update, suspend or discontinue features. We may change these terms; material changes will be notified and the "last updated" date revised.

To the extent permitted by law, Geode is provided "as is" for educational use. We are not liable for decisions made in reliance on educational estimates, or for fieldwork undertaken by you. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights.
